Our School Uniform

Our school uniform plays an important role in supporting the ethos and identity of Meadow Green Primary. We ask all families to support our uniform policy by ensuring children attend school in the correct uniform and present themselves in a smart and appropriate way.

We have carefully selected our uniform to be comfortable, practical and affordable for primary-aged children. Most items can be purchased from supermarkets and high street retailers.

Second-hand uniform is also available through FoMG Uniform Sales, helping to keep costs low for families.

Active (PE) Uniform

Introduced during COVID-19, our Active Uniform has been a successful addition to school life. It allows children greater flexibility to take part in daily physical activity and outdoor learning.

We have therefore continued to offer an Active Uniform alongside our full school uniform, supporting children’s health, wellbeing and engagement in exercise, while maintaining a smart appearance.

This approach also reflects our commitment to the Department for Education (DfE) guidance on keeping school uniform costs affordable for families.

School Uniform

Our school uniform helps create a sense of pride, identity and belonging within our school community. It looks smart and is designed to be both practical and affordable for families.

Meadow Green Primary’s uniform colours are Royal Blue and Grey/Black. Most items can be purchased from high street retailers, making it accessible and cost-effective.

Items marked with an * (some of which include the school logo) are available through our online shop. Non-branded items in the correct colours are also acceptable.

Parents can order uniform via ParentPay. Please select the quantity required and include sizes in the notes for each item.

School Uniform

• Royal Blue Sweatshirt or Cardigan
• Meadow Green Polo Shirt or sky blue polo shirt
• Blue/white shirt (optional alternative)
• School tie
• Grey or black pinafore dress, skirt, trousers or shorts
• White, black or grey socks (short or knee length) or black/grey tights
• Black school shoes or plain black trainers

Footwear Guidance

High-heeled shoes or boots are not suitable for school.

Second-Hand Uniform

Our PTA, Friends of Meadow Green (FoMG), kindly collect pre-loved school uniform items in good condition. These are resold at regular sales throughout the year, usually from £1 per item, with all proceeds supporting the school.

This is a great way to access affordable uniform and ensure good-quality items are reused as children grow.

• Blue/white short sleeve shirt
• Grey trousers, shorts or standard uniform options
• Blue checked summer dress
• Polo shirt with grey shorts or skirt

PE / Active Uniform

Additional Information

• Please clearly label all clothing with your child’s full name
• Jewellery is not permitted in school
• Small stud earrings may be worn but must be removed for PE and swimming lessons

Second-Hand Uniform

Our PTA, Friends of Meadow Green (FoMG), kindly collect donated Meadow Green uniform items that are still in good condition.

These items are then sold at regular sales throughout the year, usually from just £1 per item. All proceeds go directly back into FoMG to support the school.

This is a fantastic way to:

• Save money on school uniform
• Give good-quality items a second life
• Support sustainability by reducing waste
• Stock up on spare uniform items as children grow

We are very grateful to all families who donate and support these sales.
