Welcome from the Governors

Welcome to Meadow Green Primary School.

We are delighted that you are considering our school for your child’s education and hope this page gives you an insight into the important role our Governing Body plays within the school community.

At Meadow Green, we are fortunate to have a dedicated team of staff who are caring, committed and hardworking. Visitors to the school often comment on the confidence, friendliness and excellent manners of our pupils, which we are extremely proud of.

The Governing Body is fully committed to supporting the continued success of the school and ensuring the highest possible standards of teaching, learning and wellbeing for every child.

The Role of the Governing Body

Governors work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to help shape the strategic direction of the school. Their role includes:

  • Supporting and challenging school leaders
  • Monitoring standards of teaching and learning
  • Overseeing finance and staffing
  • Ensuring the school provides a safe and secure environment
  • Promoting the wellbeing and achievement of all pupils

Governors also value the views of staff, pupils, parents and carers, recognising that strong partnerships are essential to the success of the school.

Governing Body Meetings

The Full Governing Body meets four times each academic year.

In addition, governors serve on a number of committees, including:

Committees

  • Buildings, Health & Safety
  • Curriculum & Standards
  • Finance & Staffing

These committees allow governors to focus closely on key areas of school improvement and development.

Working with Our School Community

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, governors actively seek the views of all members of the school community. We welcome feedback from parents and carers through opportunities such as:

  • Parent Forums
  • School surveys
  • Meetings and consultations
  • Informal feedback and communication

By listening carefully to our community, we aim to make informed decisions that benefit all pupils.
