In Year 4, we aim to provide a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop independence, build resilience and enjoy learning new challenges.

Homework

We believe that regular home learning helps children to build confidence, reinforce key skills and develop strong learning habits.

Children are expected to complete the following activities regularly:

🐝 Read daily and discuss their reading with an adult

🐝 Complete Twinkl Spelling activities

🐝 Practise common exception words

🐝 Complete maths homework from the White Rose Maths homework books (pages will be set on Class Dojo)

🐝 Practise KIRFs (Key Instant Recall Facts), which are updated on Class Dojo

🐝 Complete any pre-learning tasks set by the teacher

Pre-Learning

Pre-learning activities help children prepare for upcoming learning, develop curiosity and build confidence when new topics are introduced in class.

🐝 Activities can be completed at home

🐝 Children can record their ideas, drawings, research or findings in their Home/School Communication Book
