First Phase
Welcome to the First Phase
In the First Phase we have 4 classes:
1B - Mrs Barber
1J - Miss James
2G - Miss Galbraith
3W - Mr Williams
Key Information:
Every day children will need to have in school: a water bottle and their book bag with
their reading book and reading record inside.
Children need to wear their PE kit to school on their 2 PE days (indoor and outdoor). Your child's class teacher will let you know when these days are.
Children will be set a piece of English (phonics or spelling) and Maths (usually Mathletics) homework each week and will have a week to complete the tasks set. Spelling homework may be to use the Twinkl spelling website. Children should be reading with their adult everyday and should be practising their times tables on a regular basis.

Maths
In Maths we use Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) to help with children's fluency of number. Please find below the KIRFs for Year 1, 2 and 3. You can also see the KIRFs they should already know from Nursery and Reception.
