Sustainability and Climate Action Plan

Climate Action Plan

Prioritising environmental sustainability throughout our school is one of our strategic priorities and Meadow Green has been working hard to reduce emissions over recent years, to take and inspire climate action.

We are establishing a Sustainability Working Group which consists of our Headteacher, School Finance Manager, our Eco-School leader and our Buildings /H&S governors who will have responsibility for sustainability. Our first action has been to create our Climate Action Plan, which will be published for Autumn 2025.

Here are some of the actions the school has already taken:

  • Set up an Eco Team of school pupils to support our Eco-School accreditation.
  • Replaced the lights throughout the school building  with LED lighting.
  • Audited our Curriculum for opportunities to utilise the school grounds and  sustainability themes.
  • Measured the school’s carbon footprint.
  • Established a partnership with the  Woodrush High School Academy  Community group, to explore opportunities for enhancing our , sustainability,  biodiversity and decarbonisation
  • Undertaken projects to enhance and increase biodiversity in our wooded area, wildlife pond and cottage garden.
