Welcome to Year 1/2
In Year 1/2 we have 3 classes:
1M - Miss James
2S - Mrs Barber
2G - Miss Galbraith
Key Information:
Every day children will need to have in school a water bottle and their book bag with
their reading book and reading record inside.
Children need to wear their PE kit to school on their 2 PE days (indoor and outdoor). Your child's class teacher will let you know when these days are.
Children will be set a piece of Phonics homework weekly related to the sounds learned.
In addition to this, Year 2 children also get Maths homework. This will be either Mathletics or paper based.

Maths
In Maths we use Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) to help with children's fluency of number. Please find below examples of the KIRFs we use in Year 1/2. You can also see the KIRFs they should already know from Nursery and Reception.
